X and Why


When it comes to complex data, readers only have so much time. They need to know what that graph means and why they should care - quickly. That's why, when it comes to data visualisation, I focus on creating an experience where even the busiest of us can get the gist.

In the pictured project, Nexus required a report to showcase the results of a year-long research project. This was a complicated piece of work as there was so much data. When designing something this data heavy, I encourage the authors to highlight the key information they want the reader to walk away with in each section. Unfortunately, most will not read the entire report top to bottom but by pulling out key points, the designer can ensure the most important bits aren’t missed.

Storytelling


Designing reports is challenging as it can be difficult to keep readers engaged. In order to avoid creating a document with dense walls of text I help the authors tell a story by incorporating illustration and other graphical elements. This often helps the reader digest the information and can contextualise complex content in a narrative. In this project, I helped Nesta present their latest research into community-led healthcare innovations.

Illustrations


As part of my brand design work at Ticketmaster, I developed a series of custom illustrations and a comprehensive illustration creation guideline to ensure consistency and cohesiveness across various marketing materials. The objective was to create visually engaging and brand-aligned illustrations that could be easily adapted for different uses and partnerships.
